Watch out for that truth bomb exploding over your head. 

That's really the beginning and the end of the story. I do not have a legendary tale of how my parents took me on vacations at a young age or how I took a gap year to explore Europe with only a trusty backpack. Travel always seemed like something epic that other people did. People in movies and books. 

I had gone places and done things, but it wasn't until I hit an unidentified middle-aged age that I started to feel anxious about all I was missing in the world. So, I started going places, you know, more. Sometimes I had money to do so, but mostly I didn't. That's why I started making the most of a single day.

My early trips used to be on the company dime and I'd figure out how to squeeze as many hours as possible out of it. I also learned how to explore anywhere I could go in a day or where I could crash on a friend's sofa. I'm also lucky enough to know people who are expert travelers, who have passed on their hard-earned wisdom from airport security lines to little ol' me and I'm happy to share them with you.

24 HOUR STAY was born of a love of everyday adventures no matter where you are. The hope is to share places worth exploring (and I really do think ALL places are worth exploring) with curated itineraries, recommendations, and handy tips. But mostly we want to encourage you to get out there and see some more of this great, big, beautiful planet we live on. Because life really is short. And the world really is wide.
